Crockpot Hot Chocolate

Normally I just post the recipe but this one deserved a tad more. This is NOT your every day Hot Cocoa…this is rich, chocolate decadence in a mug! Perfect for Holiday gatherings or a cold snowy day inside with the fam!

Ingredients:
14 oz. Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (I’ll explain how to make your own at the end)
1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
4 cups Whole Milk
4 cups 2% Milk
1 tablespoon McCormick Vanilla Extract
2 cups Ghirardelli Chocolate Chips (I use half milk chocolate and half semi-sweet) You can add more if you want it more chocolatey.

In a large crockpot combine all ingredients and heat on low for 30 minutes. Gently stir with a whisk, recover and check every 30 minutes, stirring each time. Takes 2-3 hours to heat thoroughly.

Add-Ons:
Whip Cream
Caramel Syrup
Chocolate Syrup
Chocolate Chips
Crushed & Whole Candy Canes

How To Make Sweetened Condensed Milk

Ingredients:
2 cups Milk (I prefer whole but you can use 2%)
1 1/2 c Domino Sugar

Combine in a heavy bottom pot and heat on medium heat. Do NOT let the milk boil. Let barely simmer for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract. Let cool. Store in the refrigerator.
