Have you ever been at work when your belly starts grumbling?! Especially if you are one who has a physically demanding job which requires you to move around a lot. The calories you consume don’t stay with you as long because you are burning them off. Most people think that eating three meals a day is sufficient but when you work a labor intensive job that requires constant physical exertion your body is burning those stored calories you have put in it. For someone in this field it is best for you to eat six smaller meals spread throughout the day.
Here are some tips that are helpful. First, look at how your week is scheduled, pay attention to the times you will be working and if they will coincide with meal times. Second, write down or set up reminders for your meals so you don’t forget. This is especially important if you are switching from three larger meals to six smaller meals. You’ll need the reminder to help adjust to the new routine. Lastly, eat your meals when you’ve scheduled them. This will keep the grumbling away as well as preventing fatigue.
I hope these tips help you adjust from the standard three meals a day to six smaller meals. If you make the switch let me know in the comments how you are adjusting!
