Physically Fit at Any Age

There is no age limit when it comes to being physically fit! Actually the 50’s are the new 20’s! Today I will be discussing the importance of being physically active, no matter your age, and help you tackle the fear of getting older.
    1. As we get older, we can be worried about our physical appearance as we age and can even have difficulty accepting changes that naturally occur as time passes by.  But I encourage you that when each coming decade hits, it is a new chapter and new journey filled full of great wisdom for you to experience. Therefore, do not be ashamed of your current age, or the age you will be someday.  See it as a blessing.  Look at each age milestone as a different stage in life which you are about to approach, or season to finish off. Weather you may be in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, or 50’s, each stage you are living in is its own season and a new, exciting chapter awaits in the days ahead!
    2. There is no age limit when it comes being physically fit. In fact, exercising actually slows down the aging process.  It is very important, especially by age fifty, to continue to have an exercise routine within your schedule.  One reason is you are more likely to be injured in a fall because your bone structure is different from when you were younger. Therefore, to prevent easy injuries from occurring, you should take functional fitness, strength training, or cross fit classes, where these type of programs focus on enhancing and obtaining strength.
    3. There so many types of diets that are trending these days. You have the vegan diet, the vegetarian diet, the clean eating and the Paleo diet, etc. What does your body crave? Once you start putting cleaner foods in your body, it will start going through a transition.  The first phase is a detox, where you body will cleanse itself of all of the the unhealthy bacteria by building the immune system with antioxidants that will come from fruits and vegetable, which will also help prevent sickness, enhance your skin by making it clearer and your hair will become stronger and longer!  In the second phase, you will go through a sugary craving process.  Sugar spikes our insulin, which causes us to crave more sugar and unhealthy foods. Through your clean eating process, if you do have a sweet tooth, snack on dates, fresh fruit, or dark green veggies and drink lots of water. There are alternatives that can help curb those cravings. Below is a list of such fruits and veggies that are also good for hair, skin, and nails!
